About

Vintage Style Pocket Watches are new pocket watches made in the look of classic antique fob watches, built to be carried and worn rather than kept behind glass. The range covers full hunter, half hunter, open face and skeleton cases in silver-tone, gold-tone, brass, black and rose gold-tone finishes, with mechanical or Swiss quartz movements.

Are these antique pocket watches?

No. Each watch is new and made in a vintage style. You get the patterned covers, Roman numerals and open movements of an old fob watch, with a new case and movement that is ready to wear rather than restore.

Which case style should I choose?

Style Cover Good for
Full Hunter Pocket Watches Solid hinged cover over the dial Protecting the crystal, classic gifts
Half Hunter Pocket Watches Cover with a center window Reading the hour with the lid closed
Skeleton Pocket Watches Open-worked dial, often under a cover Watching the movement run
Open face No cover Quick reading, a plain dress look

Should I pick mechanical or quartz?

Most watches here are mechanical and wound by hand using the crown, so there is no battery to replace. The Classique collection in Swiss Pocket Watches is mostly Swiss quartz, for anyone who would rather set it once and leave it.

How do I shop by finish?

Browse Gold Pocket Watches, Silver Pocket Watches, Black Pocket Watches or Brass Pocket Watches. To wear your watch with a vest, add a chain from Pocket Watch Chains.

Frequently asked questions

Are vintage style pocket watches real working watches?

Yes. They are new working watches, not display props. Mechanical models are wound by hand with the crown and Swiss quartz models run on a battery. Each product page lists the movement and the case style, so you can check before you order.

What is the difference between a hunter and an open face pocket watch?

A hunter case has a hinged metal cover that closes over the dial and protects the crystal. An open face watch has no cover, so the dial is always visible. A half hunter sits between the two, with a small window in the cover.

How do I wear a pocket watch?

Clip one end of a chain to the bow at the top of the watch and fix the other end to a vest buttonhole, belt loop or jacket pocket. Keep the watch in a vest or trouser pocket with the chain draped across.
