Q. What is a mechanical pocket watch?
A. A mechanical watch is a watch that doesn’t use a battery, but rather uses primarily kinetic energy to wind the watch while it is moving.
Q. How long will a mechanical watch keep time while it is sitting still?
A. This depends on how long the watch was moving. A good rule of thumb is that if you keep the watch on your person for around 10 hours per day, it will never stop, but most people will just set the time before heading off with the watch. A quick wind will get it started, and then movement will keep it going.
Q. Why mechanical instead of a battery?
A. True pocket watches are always mechanical, as they are designed to last a lot longer than a battery operated watch, and are often used as heirlooms. While other manufacturers use quartz operation, we don’t feel that it would be in keeping with why pocket watches are special in the first place.
Q. What shipping do you use?
A. We use Australia Post eparcel. Fast, and trackable (tracking number is provided).
Q. What if I don’t like the design when I receive it?
A. No problem, you can send it back for a full refund, or exchange it for another watch. It’s important that you (or the recipient if it is for a gift) love the watch, so please contact us if you need to change it.
